Abstract
Typically, large sample cross-sectional youth surveys are survey-based, and their methodological background is widely recognized in the scientific community. This does not mean, however, that they are not subject to ’ontological’ (i.e., inherent) question marks about their content and methodology or that they have become more questionable over time due to social change. In describing some of these question marks, we believe that we have reached the limit of survey-based research, where we can say that we need to go beyond questionnaires to describe reality. In this context, we are trying to outline a new agenda for youth research, then present the results of an integrated method in the context of a possible COVID-generation study.
