Abstract

A new species of Lepidoptera (Papilionoidea) is described on the basis of specimens collected at upper elevations in the Guiana Shield: Thaeides hyperion Bálint, Costa & Grishin, n. sp. (Lycaenidae: Theclinae: Eumaeini). Due to its adaptation to mountainous areas, it is probably a taxon endemic to the biogeographic Pantepui Province. With 16 figures, one table. | A Guyana-pajzs táblahegyeinek (tepui) magaslatán gyűjtött példányok alapján új nappali lepkefaj (Lepidoptera:Papilionoidea) kerül leírásra: Thaeides hyperion Bálint, Costa & Grishin, n. sp. (Lycaenidae: Theclinae: Eumaeini = Lángszinérfélék: Farkröpérformák: Farkincás-rokonúak). A hegyvidéki területekhez való alkalmazkodása miatt valószínűleg a Pántepui állatföldrajzi tartomány endemikus faja. 16 ábrával, egy táblázattal.
