Abstract

The major goal of this study is to show how to calculate the critical load of heterogeneous fixed- fixed beams with an intermediate roller support ( called FrsF). Three-point boundary value problems with homogeneous boundary conditions arise from the stability problems of these beams. The differential equations of the stability problem that contain the critical load can be turned into eigenvalue problems governed by homogeneous Fredholm integral equations for which the kernel functions can be calculated from the associated Green functions if the Green functions of these boundary value problems are known. After that, eigenvalue issues can be reduced to algebraic eigenvalue problems, which can subsequently be solved numerically with the use of efficient algorithm using boundary element method (BEM). The critical load findings of FrsF beams were compared to those obtained using a commercial finite element software, and the results were found to be in good agreement.
