Abstract

A tizenkilenc tanulmányt tartalmazó, Szilágyi Márton előszavával megjelent kötet egy 2016-ban rendezett művelődéstörténeti konferencia anyagát teszi közzé, amelynek apropóját Vay Ádám kuruc generális újratemetésének 110. évfordulója adta. A Móricz Zsigmond Kulturális Egyesület egy korábbi konferenciája szintén a Rákóczi-szabadságharchoz kapcsolódott, amely a Kuruc(kodó) irodalom címet kapta és a szatmári béke 300. évfordulójára emlékezett. | The volume contains the proceedings of a conference held in 2016, comprising 19 case studies that centre on funerals, death rites, and reburials. The authors examine historical events in Hungary from the time of the Árpád dynasty to the late twentieth century. They concentrate on recently discovered primary sources related to funeral rituals, literary texts connected to funerals, and topics related to the posthumous reception, especially the placement of statues and the identification of burial locations in later periods.
