Abstract

Az iskolák államosítását követően a Mindszenty-ellenes kampány és a fordulat évében az ideológiai offenzíva hónapjaiban nehéz kihívásokkal szembesültek a korábban felekezeti is-kolák, tanítóképzők diákjai és tanárai. Kecskeméten a katolikus és református tanítónőképzők összevonásával létrejött Bethlen Kata tanítónőképzőbe került katolikus lányokat az átlagosnál is szokatlanabb helyzet várta. A korábbi református képző épületébe, túlnyomó többségében számukra ismeretlen pedagógusok, igazgató irányítása alá, református leányok társaságába kerültek. Az önmagában is nagy tapintatot, empátiát követelő helyzetben, mint olaj a tűzre záporoztak a formálódó, egyre követelőzőbb pártállam velük szemben támasztott, iden-titásukat fenyegető követelései. Ebben a helyzetben a lényegében kommunista Diákszövetség városi és iskolai vezetői – a helyi államvédelmi osztállyal, MDP szervezettel, szakszervezettel együttműködve – purifikátori buzgalommal csaptak le a diákok legkisebb távolságtartó gesz-tusára, ellenállására. A tíz levéltár, és több kortársi visszaemlékezés, valamint a korabeli sajtó felhasználásával készült dokumentatív elbeszélés a korabeli források és kortársak megszólal-tatásával mutatja be az 1948 decemberi kecskeméti spontán diáksztrájk előzményeit és a diákokat, tanárokat, igazgatót érintő következményeit. Azt a mechanizmust ahogy a munkáspártokkal szemben távolságtartó városban demonstrálták: ha maradni akarsz az is-kolában legalább felszínesen alkalmazkodnod kell. Ha nem teszed, röpülsz. | Following the nationalization of schools, during the months of the ideological offensive during the antiMindszenty campaign and the year of the turning point, students and teachers of previously denominational schools and teacher training colleges faced difficult challenges. In Kecskemét, Catholic girls who were admitted to the Bethlen Kata Teachers’ Training College, which was created by the merger of Catholic and Reformed teacher training colleges, faced an even more unusual situation than usual. In the building of the former Reformed school, they were placed in the company of Reformed girls, most of them under the direction of teachers and directors unknown to them. In a situation that in itself demanded great tact and empathy, the demands of an increasingly demanding party state, which threatened their identity, rained down on them like fuel on a fire. In this situation, the municipal and school leaders of the essentially communist Students’ Union, in cooperation with the local state security department, MDP organisation and trade union, struck at the slightest gesture of detachment and resistance by the students with purist zeal. Using ten archives, several contemporary recollections, and the contemporary press, the documentary narrative presents the antecedents of the spontaneous student strike in Kecskemét in December 1948 and its consequences for students, teachers, and the principal, using contemporary sources and contemporaries. The mechanism, as demonstrated in a city that kept its distance from the workers’ parties: if you want to stay in school, you have to adapt at least superficially. If you don’t, you fly away.
