Abstract

Scientific innovation is essential for economic growth, societal progress, and globalcompetitiveness. High-tech startups are key players in transforming research into marketready products. However, they often face challenges in bridging the gap between research andcommercialization. The European Union (EU) addresses these challenges through fundingmechanisms such as Horizon Europe, which provide substantial support for high-riskinnovations in areas like artificial intelligence, healthcare, and sustainability.By utilising EU funding opportunities enabling technological progress, startups can contributeto a sustainable European economy, while addressing global challenges as well.
