Abstract
The study examines the sustainability of occupational safety and healthin the light of the objectives of the 2030 Agenda framework, with aparticular focus on the challenges posed by new technologies and digitalforms of work.Signifcant progress has been made in reducing the number of fatalaccidents at work in the European Union over the last three decades, butmajor challenges remain, particularly in protecting workers’ rights andcreating safe working environments. New technologies, global labourmarket changes and sectoral shifts are creating new risks at work thatrequire more complex and comprehensive occupational safety andhealth responses. OECD guidelines and international initiatives tomeasure the quality of the working environment are contributing toimproving well-being at work, but their impact remains limited.Ensuring decent work and a safe working environment is a priority of theSustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda and an importantpolicy objective in Hungary. Improving new work organization practicesand the situation of workers on digital platforms will require particularattention in the future.
