Abstract
This paper explores the historical development and evolution of legalregulations addressing traffic-related endangerment crimes in Hungary.Beginning with the foundational Act V of 1878, the analysis highlights thedistinction between intentional and negligent acts, with a focus on theheightened accountability associated with occupational andprofessional obligations. The study examines the signifcant legislativemilestone of the Defciency Act of 1948, which established theindependent offense of endangering within the scope of an occupation, criminalizing immediate exposure to danger irrespective of materialharm. Through an in-depth review of judicial practices, ministerialreasoning, and scholarly contributions, the paper elucidates theprogression of key legal concepts, including negligence, causality, andoccupational liability. By tracing these developments, the researchunderscores the dynamic interplay between evolving societal needs andlegal frameworks, offering insights into the historical and legalfoundations of contemporary traffic law in Hungary.
