Abstract

Társadalomtudományi megközelítésben csak korlátozott tudásunk van az interszex emberekről mint társadalmi kisebbségről, mivel nemzetközi szinten is csupán kisszámú kutatás zajlott velük kapcsolatban. A jelen tanulmány célja, hogy nemzetközi kitekintéssel és a rendelkezésre álló – elsősorban társadalomtudományi – szakirodalmat felhasználva bepillantást nyújtson abba, miért problémás a magyarországi endoszexista társadalmi-kulturális és jogi környezet az érintettek számára. Emellett felhívjuk a figyelmet arra, hogy a jelenség elutasítottsága, negligálása és ismeretlensége olyan társadalmi stigmatizációval jár, amely akadályozza az interszex emberekről szóló érdemi közbeszéd létrejöttét és megnehezíti az érintettek társadalmi inklúzióját. Először az interszex emberek társadalmi láthatatlanságának és marginalizáltságának néhány meghatározó vonását mutatjuk be, majd kitérünk arra is, hogy miért nehéz ennek a populációnak a „(fel)mérése”. A rendelkezésre álló friss európai adatok alapján felhívjuk a figyelmet arra, hogy az interszex emberek riasztó mértékű erőszakkal szembesülnek. Végül azt hangsúlyozzuk, hogy az érintettek bevonásával lenne szükséges a releváns szakpolitikák alakítása, melyet szintén az érintettek bevonásával készült empirikus kutatásokra kellene alapozni. | From a social scientific perspective, we have limited knowledge about intersex people as a social minority, since there has been very little (social scientific) research conducted on this theme. The aim of this paper is to provide insight into why the endosexist socio-cultural and legal environment in Hungary is problematic for people affected by this phenomenon, by using mainly the available social scientific literature. We would also like to draw attention to the fact that the rejection, negligence and unawareness of this phenomenon create social stigmatisation that can hinder the development of a meaningful public discourse on intersex people and can make their social inclusion difficult. First, we will present some defining features of the social invisibility and marginalization of intersex people, and then we will discuss why it is difficult to “measure” or “survey” this population. Based on the latest available European data, we draw attention to the fact that intersex people face an alarming level of violence. Finally, we emphasize that it would be necessary to develop relevant policies with the invol - vement of intersex stakeholders, which should also be based on empirical research conducted with the involvement of intersex people.
