Abstract
ARCHITECT: DE TWEE SNOEKEN The recently revitalized town hall in Twello, Netherlands, exemplifies a shift towards sustainable public architecture through the reimagining of existing structures. De Twee Snoeken transformed a 1980s office building by preserving its concrete frame, significantly reducing environmental impact. Innovations include a bio-based lime-hemp plaster facade that embraces natural aging, an experimental ice-buffer system for energy, and the sensitive integration of a new laminated timber addition while leaving original interior structures visible.
