Abstract

In this study, which reviews the last five years of Jog-Állam Politika, we use statistical and qualitative methods to analyse the authorship and content of the journal’s issues, highlighting patterns of publication, research trends and author communities. The analysis of the data provided us with the opportunity to map the structure of the scientific author community and the composition of research networks, with particular attention to the gender, institutional background and affiliation of authors. The citation frequency, scope and thematic distribution of publications reflect the internal dynamics of the discipline, the increasing interdisciplinarity and the progress of international integration. The impact of digitisation, such as the increased use of DOI identifiers thanks to international databases and the management of manuscripts through the OJS platform, was a key factor in the analysis. Our aim with this research was not only to describe the current situation, but also to indicate a way forward for improving editorial policy and the culture of legal publishing in our journal.
