Abstract

A rohamtüzérség az első világháború harctéri tapasztalatai alapján született meg. A fiatal csapatnem a második világháború során bizonyította szükségességét a gyalogság harcának támogatása terén. A Magyar Királyi Honvédségben 1942 tavaszán kezdődött el az új csapatnem megszervezése, amelyet korszerű magyar és német gyártmányú rohamtarackokkal szereltek fel. Elsőként jött létre Barankay József százados vezetésével az 1. rohamtüzér osztály. Az osztály 1944 áprilisa és 1945 februárja között vett részt a szovjetek elleni műveletekben, és ezalatt komoly hírnévre tett szert. Jelen munka az osztálytörzs tisztjeinek életútját hivatott bemutatni. | Assault artillery was born due to World War I battle ground experiences. The young branch proved its necessity during World War II in supporting infantry combat. Organising of the new branch began in the spring of 1942 in the Hungarian Royal Defence Forces, and the troops were equipped with modern Hungarian and German assault guns. The first assault artillery battalion was the first to be established under the command of Captain József Barankay. This battalion participated in fights against the Soviets between April 1944 and February 1945, gaining considerable renown during this period. This article aims to present the life stories of the officers of the battalion.
