Abstract

A Magyarországi Református Egyház 2018-ban indította el országos óvodaprogramját, amelynek keretében 66 intézmény újult meg, illetve 46 helyszínen emeltek új óvodát. A programot Magyarország Kormánya 35 milliárd forint vissza nem térítendő támogatással finanszírozta. A cél egyszerű volt és világos: korszerű nevelést szolgáló környezetet teremteni. Az eredmény: 2949 új óvodai, valamint 177 mini bölcsődei férőhely, több mint 450 új munkahely, amelyből legalább kettőszázat óvodapedagógusok töltöttek be. | ARCHITECT: DEZSŐ EKLER Launched in 2018 by the Reformed Church in Hungary and financially supported by government funding, the nationwide kindergarten development program aimed to provide modern educational environments. One such kindergarten being the Gyömrő kindergarten. Despite a tight urban site, the building achieves spatial generosity and a playful, complex architectural language through a rational, rectangular floor plan and a rising gabled roof that reflects the internal hierarchy of spaces. The design strategically integrates curved wall elements and varied ceiling heights, creating a spatial rhythm that evokes architectural metaphors rather than mere functional solutions. Ekler's approach blurs the line between building and monument, merging practical needs with poetic form. The kindergarten in Gyömrő thus becomes more than an educational facility: it is an architectural statement that invites interpretation, a pedagogical landscape where spatial complexity fosters imagination, and a built response to the challenge of creating meaningful public architecture under prescriptive constraints.
