Abstract
The paper presents the fundamental solutions established for the equations of motion written in terms of displacements in the theory of elasticity of crystalline systems and the hydromechanics of ideal liquids provided that the loading is harmonic and considering 2D and 3D problems as well. On the basis of the results obtained we have found the displacement field in an infinite elastic medium for the corresponding problems. Then the propagation of plane harmonic waves in the three-dimensional infinite elastic medium is investigated in the absence of mass forces.
