Abstract
The numerical solution of the thermal part of a coupled thermo-mechanical contact problem is presented. The hp-version finite element method is used for the discretization of the temperature field in space, and finite difference method in time. The mesh is modified during the computation, therefore the temperature field has to be transferred between different meshes. A mapping technique is developed for the p-version of the finite element method. Numerical examples are presented.
