Abstract
This review article examines The Cambridge History of the Mongol Empire (CHME), a landmark two-volume work that synthesises recent scholarship on Mongol Eurasia. It situates CHME within the historiographical trajectory of Mongol studies, assessing its structure, key arguments and contributions to the field. The article compares CHME with earlier major volumes, including The Cambridge History of Inner Asia: The Chinggisid Age and The Mongol World , highlighting differences in editorial approach, thematic focus and historiographical impact. It also discusses some of the potential future directions in the study of Mongol Eurasia.
