Abstract

The exact solution of the quasi-static boundary value problem of plane elasticity in a rectangular region is constructed. This solution consisting of the two parts satisfies both the conditions imposed on the boundary of the rectangle and the original relationships. The first part depends on the resultant vector and moment of the tractions and the second one depends on the self-equilibrated part of the tractions. Necessary existence conditions are deduced for the solution.
