Abstract

Az SM U 4 császári és királyi tengeralattjáró 1916. szeptember 14-én torpedóval elsüllyesztett egy gőzöst, majd a lövegével szétlőtte a gőzös fedélzetéről a tengerbe esett motoros naszádokat. A brit National Archives levéltárban őrzött dokumentumok alapján az események részletei, a gőzös és a motoros naszádok nevei is beazonosíthatóak. Utóbbiak a Királyi Haditengerészet kötelékébe tartozó felfegyverzett motoros naszádok voltak, amiket kifejezetten tengeralattjáró-vadászatra építettek. Ezekkel együtt a Császári és Királyi Haditengerészet által elsüllyesztett brit hadihajók száma, a köztudatban elterjedt egyről négyre emelkedik. | On the 14 September 1914, the Austro-Hungarian SMU 4 submarine sank a steamer with a torpedo, and with its deck gun destroyed the motor launches that fell in the sea from the deck of the steamer. Upon examining the documents kept in the vaults of the British National Archives the steamer and the motor launches can be identified. The latter ones were armed vessels of the Royal Navy and were developed for submarine hun-ting. Considering these, the number of the Royal Navy warships sunk by the Imperial and Royal Navy increases from one to four.
