Abstract

Health promotion enables the attainment of optimal health and development for individuals, families, households, and communities. The objective of this study is to elucidate health promotion practices implemented within households, wherein health education is integrated with the cultural values imparted to children during their formative years. The study reveals that regular cleanliness practices as a significant health promotion strategy that individuals acquire in their households to enhance overall health and well-being. Engaging in routine hygiene practises, such as maintaining cleanliness in both indoor and outdoor environments, bathing regularly, and practising proper handwashing, is widely seen as beneficial for maintaining good health. Conversely, the disregard for these practices might increase the likelihood of experiencing negative health outcomes. Hygiene serves as the fundamental basis for promoting a state of well-being, as it empowers individuals, households, and communities to attain optimal levels of healthcare within their living environments. These findings possess potential utility in the development of programmes aimed at enhancing household cleanliness practices, thus facilitating health promotion within households.
