Abstract

Breastfeeding is a universal practice, yet its cultural interpretations and implementations vary significantly across different societies. In both Hungary and Syria, breastfeeding is influenced by a confluence of historical, religious, and sociocultural factors. Understanding these influences is crucial for developing culturally sensitive health policies and support systems. This article aims to explore the historical contexts and cultural nuances of breastfeeding practices in Hungary and Syria, highlighting the differences and similarities that shape maternal behaviours in these countries.
