Abstract

The fluidization phenomenon is explained through a pressure drop diagram, often called the fluidization curve. The fluidization curve can be divided into three parts, one of which is the interval of fluidization. This part of the curve forms a long, straight line at a constant pressure drop value. Different states of movement can be observed based on the geometry of the materials, their moisture content, adhesive behavior, and density. Zeolite spheres between 1.7-2.4 mm diameter distribution were examined. The fluidization curves were derived accordingly to these, and measurements were made with different moisture content values for each case. Besides, photographs were made of the movement of the particles at different stages of the process, they show the movement of the particles over the whole period. It can be seen that the moisture content affects minimal and maximal fluidization velocity, and the pressure drop created by the particles as well.
