Abstract

A hazai népegészségügy megújításra szorul, ezt próbálja bizonyítani a három részből álló cikksorozat. A népegészségügy fogalmának értelmezése az elmúlt évtizedek alatt jelentős módosuláson ment át, nemcsak elméletében, hanem gyakorlatában is. A jelenlegi magyar rendszer a szerző véleménye alapján évtizedekkel maradt el az élvonaltól, amit többek között a korszerű beavatkozásokkal megelőzhető halálozás adatai és az egészségtelen életmód magyarországi elterjedtsége igazolni látszik. A cikksorozat első része a népegészségügy fogalmának értelmezését járta körül, a második rész az élenjáró országok azon elméleti és gyakorlati tapasztalatait foglalta össze, amelyek alapul szolgálhatnak a hazai népegészségügy átalakításához, a sorozat harmadik, záró része pedig a hazai népegészségügyi rendszer megújításához olyan megoldási koncepciót mutat be, mely kiindulópontja lehet a változásokat előkészítő szakmai vitának. | Public health in Hungary is in need of renewal, as this three-part series of articles attempts to argue. The understanding of the concept of public health has undergone significant changes over the past decades, not only in theory but also in practice. The current Hungarian system, in the author’s opinion, is decades behind the leading edge, as the data on preventable mortality through modern interventions and the prevalence of unhealthy lifestyles in Hungary, among other things, seem to confirm. The first part of the article series explored the current concept of public health, while the second part summarized the theoretical and practical experiences of pioneering countries that can serve as a basis for transforming public health in Hungary. The third part of the series presents a conceptual approach to the reform of the domestic public health system, which can serve as a starting point for a professional debate in preparation for change.
