Abstract

In this chapter, we discuss the challenges of integrating considerations of building occupants and occupant behavior into the decision-making process of building designers. We acknowledge the complexities of occupantcentric design within newly deployed information management systems and propose a framework that integrates occupant considerations into these systems so that these considerations are robustly transferred from design to buildings in use while informing best practice.
