Abstract
At present, still very limited information is known about what the houses of the Gáva ceramic style (1100–900 BC) might have precisely looked like. Since the early 2000's, there have been some publications on the settlements of the classical Gáva period (Ha A2–Ha B1) but only a few about the excavated houses. After the complete and detailed evaluation of the find material and the excavation documentation of Poroszló-Aponhát (Heves County, Hungary), a new and more comprehensive picture is attempted to be drawn about the houses. It could be observed that the wood and clay houses were equipped with several types of outdoor and indoor fireplaces, while some scattered loom weights and grinding stones were also found in the trenches. It is also interesting that the houses and in some cases even fireplaces were decorated. In this paper, a short summarized report would be given about the Late Bronze Age Gáva houses in the Central Tisza Region, primarily based on the large find material from Poroszló-Aponhát.
