Abstract
ARCHITECT: BÁLINT KELEMEN Highlighting the evolution from historicist restoration to modern conservation, the text focuses on the privately funded ‘Romvándor’ program's innovative work in Hungary. The most notable project is the conservation of the medieval Varjaskér church ruin wall. To ensure stability against wind load, a minimalist Corten steel frame was inserted to provide structural support, delineate the original arched opening, and display information. Additionally, the former church's foundation walls were marked using grass-covered earth banks. Championing minimal, essential, and architecturally innovative intervention, akin to the Zsámbék precedent.
