Abstract
This study employed PHREEQC thermodynamic modeling to assess the impact of precipitation on Moscow's granite, marble, and concrete monuments. Data from March to September 2022 revealed that low-rainfall, acidic pH episodes are the most destructive. Modeling confirmed that concrete is the most vulnerable material, due to mineral dissolution. Crucially, the Langelier Saturation Index (LSI) showed a strong correlation with dissolution potential, establishing it as an effective rapid assessment method for predicting precipitation's corrosive effect on these materials.
