Abstract

The magneto-hydrodynamic (MHD) and joule heating effect on a laminar micropolar fluid boundary layer past a continuous, linearly stretching, non-isothermal sheet (with prescribed wall heat flux) is considered. The study considers the effects of viscous dissipation and internal heat generation. The governing momentum, angular momentum and energy equations are solved to evaluate the details of the velocity and temperature fields including heat transfer rate. Graphs are presented for the velocity and temperature fields for various micropolar fluid parameters and magnetic field with variable electric conductivity.
