Abstract
The present PhD study explores the role of design in social innovation assessment within Italian small and medium enterprises, delving into its dynamics in the corporate culture. The examination deeps the analysis of existing frameworks and methodologies, aiming to develop design-driven assessment approaches for SMEs, leveraging participatory design principles. The study has the goal of understanding how these approaches actively drive organizational changes, foster social innovation, and enhance business competitiveness, developing alternative futures that advance the understanding of shaping more socially sustainable SMEs in the Italian business landscape.
