Abstract

This paper presents an extensive investigation into the integration of irradiance forecasts into photovoltaic (PV) energy management systems and the predictive maintenance controlling system. By combining numerical weather prediction (NWP) models, artificial intelligence (AI)-based learning techniques, and site-specific PV performance datasets, we propose a comprehensive methodology for enhancing grid stability through improved scheduling of distributed energy storage and electric vehicle (EV) charging which is supported by the regular predictive maintenance regime. The work spans theoretical background, algorithm design, case studies, integration scenarios and controlling. The results show that forecast-based optimization mitigates grid instabilities caused by solar overproduction, enhances self-consumption, and reduces the reliance on expensive grid reinforcement.
