Abstract
BLUE OCEAN PAVILION, OSAKA EXPO, JAPAN ARCHITECT: Shigeru Ban Shigeru Ban's Blue Ocean Pavilion, created for a World Expo, showcases architectural innovation with a focus on sustainability and material advancement. The structure features three domes, including the first main load-bearing dome made from recycled Carbon Reinforced Plastic (CRP). Incorporating laminated bamboo and a hybrid paper-wood system, the pavilion balances natural and advanced materials. Its lightweight, "Cradle to Cradle" design enables future reassembly, uniting structural strength, aesthetics, and environmental responsibility.
