Abstract

A visegrádi országok teljesítménye számos apektusból vizsgálható. A V4-ek K+F+I együttműködése nagy potenciállal bír a regionális gazdaságfejlesztésben. A Covid-19 járvány hatására kiemelt figyelmet kapott a vitathatatlanul nagy K+F+I-igényes ipar, nevezetesen az egészségipar, annak is főként az egészségügy szektora. Jelen tanulmányban a V4-országok egészségipari teljesítményét vizsgálom, melyhez az OECD Egészségpillanatkép jelentését és Statista legfrissebb riportjait vettem alapul. Emellett a Statista adatbázisának „Health, Pharma & Medtech” gyűjtőnevet viselő egészségipar kulcsiparágainak főbb jellegzetességeit vetettem össze a Covid-19 előtti (2017–2019) és Covid-19 alatti/utáni (2020-2022) időszakokban. Konzekvenciaként levezethető, hogy a V4-országok iparágankénti összesített egészségipari árbevétele növekedett a vizsgált időszakokban. Összességében megállapítható, hogy az OECD-tagállamokkal összevetve, a V4-országok egészségügyi rendszerének teljesítménye továbbra is elmarad a kívánatostól. A lakosság egészségkockázatoknak való erős kitettsége, valamint az egészségügyi rendszer hiányosságai jelentősen hozzájárulnak a V4-országok egészségszínvonalának OECD-tagállamok átlagához mért elmaradottságához. Az egészségügyi világjárvány felhívta a figyelmet az egészségipar területén tapasztalható hiányosságokra, azonban az egészségipar, az egészségügyi ellátórendszer fejlesztése időigényes és komplex folyamat. | The performance of the Visegrad countries can be examined from several aspects. The V4's R+D+I cooperation has great potential for regional economic development. As a result of the Covid-19 epidemic, the healthcare industry, and especially the healthcare sector, which demands undeniably large R+D+I spending, received special attention. In this study, I examine the health industry performance of the V4 countries, based on the OECD Health Snapshot report and the latest Statista reports. In addition, I compared the main characteristics of the key industries of health industry, collectively known as “Health, Pharma & Medtech” in Statista database, during the pre-Covid-19 (2017–2019) and post-Covid-19 (2020-2022) periods. As a consequence, it is deducible that the total sales revenue of the V4 countries by industry increased during the examined periods. Overall, it can be concluded that, compared to the OECD member states, the desired performance of the V4 countries' healthcare system still falls short. The population's strong exposure to health risks, as well as the shortcomings of health care system, are responsible for the backwardness of the health standards of V4 countries compared to the average of the OECD member states. The health pandemic drew attention to the deficiencies in the health industry, however, the development of health industry and health care system is a time-consuming and complex process.
