Abstract

A budapesti csatában részt vevő kisebb német alakulatok története – nagy részben az elsődleges források hiánya miatt – alig ismert. A fővárosban bekerített vagy épp ott létrejött alakulatok közül az olyan kis egységek, mint például a 26. különleges rendeltetésű járőr csoport vagy a légierő 85. gyalogzászlóaljának az ostrom alatti tevékenysége szinte ismeretlen. Néhány ilyen kisebb alakulat története a budapesti csatában játszott szerepüktől függetlenül is rendkívül érdekes. Ilyen a német 318. területvédelmi zászlóaljé is, melyet alapvetően honi szolgálatra hoztak létre, de a háborús körülményeknek megfelelően eredeti rendeltetésén túl, a különösen fontos objektumok őrzésétől a partizánvadászaton és az első vonalbeli szolgálaton át, a felmentő csapat és a záróosztag szerepéig minden „poszton” kipróbáltak. Az alakulat útja Königs Wusterhausentől a ZossenWünsdorf-i főparancsnokságon, a vinnicjai Führer-bunkeren és a Dnyipro menti harcokon át a iaºi-kisinyovi (Chiºinãu) katasztrófán keresztül vezetett a magyar fővárosig. | The history of minor German units involved in the Battle of Budapest is poorly known,largely due to the lack of primary sources. Of the small units encircled or formed in thecapital, the activities of small units such as the 78thRailway Engineer Battalion or the 85thAir Force Infantry Battalion during the siege are also hardly known. The history of some ofthese units, apart from their roles in the Battle of Budapest, is in itself extremely interesting.One such story is that of the German 318thTerritorial Battalion, which was createdessentially for home service, but was tried out in every ‘post’ from guarding particularlyimportant objects to partisan hunting and front-line service to relief troop and blockingtroop duty, in addition to its original combat role. The formations route led from KönigsWusterhausen,through the headquarters in Zossen-Wünsdorf, the Führerbunker in Vinnicaand the fighting along the Dnieper, via the Iasi-Chisinau disaster, to the Hungarian capital.
