Abstract

The author shows the standardized observing territories of HUNGARIAN WATERFOWL MONITORING. The observations take place in 23 districts (Map L), which can be divided into 2-6 sub-districts. This means that the whole waterfowl monitoring occurs in 48 observation units. The total naming is needed because Lake Balaton East, the River Danube at Gemenc and Lake Tisza also become connected with the goose monitoring. This means that the number of area-units, related anyhow to the obesrvations, is 51. The biggest fault of investigations had been made earlier was, that the area actually observed had been admitted of no repetition, however they had given the name of the observational area and the size of it in hectares. To standardize the areas the first steps were done relatively long time ago. (Faragó, 1995, 1996). By showing accurate maps (Maps 2- 17.) and giving exact latitudinal and longitudinal coordinates (Table 1.), this study records the localization of the obesrvation areas of the HUNGARIAN WATERFOWL MONITORING for the future in a reproducible way.
