Abstract
In this paper, the authors publish their new data collected from 2013 to 2024. The presence of 21 mosquito species was detected based on 1208 samples collected at 262 sampling sites along the Danube River (methods used: human-landing catching, larvae sampling, CO2 trapping, netting). 91% of the collected specimens belonged to Aedes vexans and Ae. sticticus species. From the invasive species Aedes japonicus and Ae. koreicus were detected, both in larval and imago stages. A comparison of larval data and data of human-landing catching samples carried out in inhabited parts of the settlements showed that breeding sites in floodplain areas still cause the most significant mosquito damage along the Danube River.
