Abstract
This study examines how the press coverage of the two refugee groups arriving in Hungary – from Romania and the GDR – changed over the course of 1988–1989 in the country’s major national daily newspapers. The focus is on identifying when these shifts occurred, what events triggered them, and how they manifested in the newspapers’ communication.
