Abstract

A terrorizmus vizsgálatának szükségessége napjainkban felértékelődött, tekintettel arra, hogy a terrorizmus ma már nemcsak regionális, hanem globális probléma is. Egyre több támadást követnek el magányos merénylők, és a radikalizáció is számos platformon megjelenhet manapság, köszönhetően az intenzív online jelenlétnek. Jelen írásom célja az Európai Unió terrorizmustrendjeinek áttekintése és a terrorfenyegetettség értékelése, ennek érdekében elemzem az Europol által 2020 és 2025 között közzétett Terrorism Situation and Trend (TE-SAT) jelentéseket. Kétségtelen, hogy napjainkban a terrorfenyegetettség többek között komoly biztonságpolitikai kihívást jelent. Az újfajta trendek alakulásának nyomon követése komoly feladat elé állítja a hírszerző ügynökségeket, a felderítés pedig sokkal összetettebbé vált. Különösen igaz ez a magányos merénylők által jelentett veszélyre és felderítésük kihívásaira. | The necessity of examining terrorism has significantly increased in recent times, as terrorism has evolved from a regional issue into a global challenge. Attacks carried out by lone actors are becoming increasingly frequent, and radicalization can now occur across a wide range of platforms, largely due to the pervasive presence of online media. The aim of this paper is to provide an overview of terrorism trends in the European Union and to assess the current level of terrorist threat. To this end, I will examine the Terrorism Situation and Trend Reports (TE-SAT) published by Europol between 2020 and 2025. There is no doubt that terrorism today poses a serious security policy challenge. Tracking the development of new trends is a significant task for intelligence agencies, and the process of detection has become increasingly complex. This is particularly true in the case of lone-actor terrorists, whose threat is especially difficult to detect and counter.
