Abstract

Cél: A tanulmány célja a Nemzeti Védelmi Szolgálat által szerkesztett Az utolsó szolgálat című kötet elemzése, amely tíz hősi halált halt rendőr életútján keresztül tárja fel a magyar rendőrség hivatásának erkölcsi és szervezeti dimenzióit. A recenzió vizsgálja, miként válik az emlékezés a rendőri identitás, morál és közösségi kultúra építőelemévé.Módszertan: A kutatás kvalitatív tartalomelemzésre épül, amely a kötet tíz fejezetének narratíváit szervezeti kultúra és emlékezetelméleti keretben értelmezi. A vizsgálat nemzetközi szakirodalomi forrásokra támaszkodva helyezi kontextusba a rendőri hősiesség társadalmi konstrukcióját.Megállapítások: A hősi halottak történetei a rendszerváltás utáni rendészettörténet lenyomatai: a fegyveres rablások, a határőrség integrációja és a terrorellenes műveletek mind a rendőri hivatás változó, de állandóan kockázatos természetét tükrözik. A megemlékezések erősítik a bajtársi kohéziót, csökkentik a szervezeti cinizmust, és morális példát kínálnak a fiatal rendőrök számára.Érték: A kötet – és annak tudományos feldolgozása – hozzájárul a magyar rendőrség intézményi emlékezetének ápolásához és identitásának megerősítéséhez. A hősi emlékezet nemcsak gyász, hanem a rendőri kultúra önfenntartó ereje: a múlt hősei által a jelen rendőrei is értelmet, erkölcsi irányt és közösségi büszkeséget nyernek hivatásukhoz. | Objective: The aim of the study is to analyse the volume The Last Service edited by the National Protective Service, which explores the moral and organisational dimensions of the Hungarian police profession through the lives of ten police officers who died heroically. The review examines how remembrance becomes a building block of police identity, morality, and community culture. Methodology: The research is based on qualitative content analysis, which interprets the narratives of the volume’s ten chapters within the framework of organisational culture and memory theory. The study contextualises the social construction of police heroism by drawing on international literature sources. Findings: The stories of the heroic dead are imprints of the history of policing after the change of regime: armed robberies, the integration of the border guard, and anti-terrorist operations all reflect the changing but constantly risky nature of the police profession. Commemorations strengthen comradely cohesion, reduce organisational cynicism, and offer a moral example for young police officers. Value: The volume – and its scholarly processing – contributes to the cultivation of the institutional memory of the Hungarian police and the strengthening of its identity. Heroic memory is not only mourning, but also the self-sustaining force of police culture: through the heroes of the past, police officers of the present also gain meaning, moral direction, and community pride for their profession
