Abstract

A tanulmány Lorenzo Campeggio legátus és Andrea Burgio nuncius jelentéseit a középpontba állítva tárgyalja a mohácsi csatát megelőző két esztendő magyar diplomáciatörténetét, a fókuszt elsősorban a pápai-magyar és az oszmán-magyar kapcsolatokra helyezve. A történetírás által kellő mértékben figyelembe nem vett jelentések elemzése arra az eredményre vezetett, hogy a Porta és a magyar kormányzat közötti béketárgyalások egészen 1526-ig különböző csatornákon keresztül aktív módon zajlottak. Ezek középpontjában a béke, illetve az ezért cserébe fizetendő adó, valamint a korábbi békékben már szereplő átjáró állt, ahogyan azt az 1520-ban a Porta által Budára küldött Behrám csauszról ismert adatok alapján eddig is tudtuk. Az említett jelentésekből azonban az is kiderül, hogy korábbi tudásunkkal szemben a magyar fél nem pusztán házi őrizetben tartotta a csauszt, hanem éppen ellenkezőleg, a lengyel király, illetve a határvidéki katonai elöljárók közvetítésével folyamatosan és változó feltételekkel tárgyalt az oszmán féllel. Például a magyar fél bele akarta venni a békébe, pontosabban a fegyverszünetbe a pápaságot és Velencét. Megtudjuk azt is, hogy a császár is a diplomáciai rendezés részese kívánt lenni. Az ő neve azonban, nyilván az oszmán fél óhajának megfelelően, kikerült a capitulazione di pacéból,ahogyan Burgio a korabeli itáliai diplomatikának megfelelően a neki megmutatott iratot nevezte. Ugyanezt a kifejezést alkalmazták az oszmánok által ahdnáménak nevezett szerződéslevélre is. |Based on the reports of Legate Lorenzo Campeggio and Nuncio Andrea Burgio, the study discusses the history of Hungarian diplomacy in the two years preceding the Battle of Mohács, with a focus on the Papal-Hungarian and Ottoman-Hungarian relations. An analysis of the reports so far not sufficiently taken into account by historians has led to the conclusion that peace negotiations between the Porte and the Hungarian government were actively pursued through various channels until 1526. These revolved around the peace and the tax to be paid for it, as well as the passage to the Austrian and Italian territories, which had already been mentioned in the earlier peace treaties, as we have already known from the data on Behram Çavuş who was sent to Buda by the Porte in 1520. However, the above-mentioned reports also show that the Hungarian side, contrary to our previous knowledge, did not simply keep the çavuş under house arrest but, on the contrary, negotiated with the Ottoman side under constantly changing conditions through the mediation of the Polish king and the military leaders of the border region. For example, the Hungarian side wanted to include the Papacy and Venice in the peace, or more precisely in the armistice. We also learn that the Emperor also wanted to take part in the diplomatic settlement, but that, apparently at the request of the Ottoman side, he was excluded from the capitulazione di pace, as Burgio calls the document shown to him in accordance with the Italian diplomacy of the time. The same term was applied to what the Ottomans called ahdname.
