Abstract
The study addresses some questions of Hun-period settlement research in the Great Hungarian Plain. After a brief review of the directions in Hungarian research during the second half of the 20th century, the study presents the research possibilities and limitations through a transitional, Hun-period settlement horizon of a continuously inhabited, large settlement near the left bank of the River Tisza. The ceramic material offers a great opportunity to investigate the connections between the settlement and grave ceramics of the region, their chronological relations; as well as the transitions in ceramic technology and style. Representative vessels of this epoch are the spouted jugs, a type which is a rare, but widespread find both in burials and settlements of the Plain region. Some Hun-period transformations of burial customs and cemetery types are highlighted through these finds, and their chronological and cultural relations as well.
