Abstract
Younger generations are frequently thought of as the beacon of light when it comes tosalvaging our future by mainstreaming sustainable behaviour – not all research outcomessupport that. Education, availability of reliable infrastructure and well-tailored policyincentives appear to be a more reliable factor in the shift towards sustainableconsumption, while circular economy acts as a powerful enabler in the transition.Thecurrent paper analyses 57 scientific articles published between January 2004 and May2021 with a systematic review methodology revolving around the topics of sustainableconsumption, circular economy, and consumer behaviour with the aim of identifyingresearchers’ main findings that concern named topics, the methodologies they appliedand identifying gaps and questions for further research.
