Abstract

Az elemzés célja, hogy bemutassa az Aszad-rezsim összeomlásának körülményeit és következményeit, és rámutasson azon kihívásokra és kezelendő problémákra, amelyekkel az egykori felkelő csoportnak szembe kell néznie. A jelen sorok szerzője amellett érvel, hogy a stabilizálódás irányába ható pozitív tényező, hogy a külső szereplők nem érdekeltek az átmenet kudarcában és egy újabb proxy konfliktus indításában. Sőt, az Európai Unió tagállamai számára megnyílt a lehetősége annak, hogy valódi globális szereplőként tűnjenek fel a térségben, s vállaljanak részt az újjáépítésben – és egyben a saját migrációs problémájuk kezelésében. Ehhez azonban félre kell tenni a pusztán normatív alapú, a demokratikus értékeket és az emberi jogokat számon kérő politikát, helyette pragmatikus megközelítéssel célszerű a szíriai politikai átmenet problémáit kezelni. | This analysis aims to elucidate the circumstances and consequences surrounding the collapse of the Assad regime, with a specific focus on the challenges and issues confronting the former rebel group. The author contends that an advantageous feature of consolidation is the lack of interest from external actors in the failure of the transition and the initiation of another proxy conflict. The Member States of the European Union have the potential to position themselves as authentic global actors in the region, and to engage in reconstruction efforts while addressing their migration challenges. However, this necessitates setting aside a purely normative perspective on democratic values and human rights, and adopting a pragmatic approach to the challenges of political transition in Syria.
