Abstract

A tanulmány a második világháború alatti magyarországi ellenállás formáit vizsgálja, különös tekintettel a fegyveres és a felfegyverzett, de nem feltétlenül harci cselekményeket eredményező ellenállási módokra. A szerző a nemzetközi szakirodalom fogalmi kereteit felhasználva mutatja be az ellenállás fogalmának harci cselekményeken túli kiterjesztését az embermentésre, a szimbolikus és a szellemi ellenállásra vonatkozóan. Külön figyelmet szentel a kommunista irányítású akciócsoportok működésének, valamint a nem kommunista szereplők – például arisztokraták, katonatisztek – által vállalt kockázatos embermentő tevékenységeknek. A tanulmány hangsúlyozza, hogy a sikeres embermentéshez gyakran elegendőnek bizonyult a fegyver és az egyenruha tekintélye, tényleges fegyverhasználatra nem került sor. Az ekképp értett felfegyverzett ellenállás kutatása nemcsak az ellenállás sokszínűségére vonatkozó ismereteinket gyarapíthatja, hanem hozzájárulhat a korszak társadalmi viszonyainak alaposabb megértéséhez is. I This study examines the forms of resistance in Hungary during the Second World War, with particular attention to both armed resistance and “weapon-carrying” modes that did not necessarily involve combat operations. Drawing on the conceptual frameworks of international scholarship, the author expands the notion of resistance beyond acts of violence to include rescue operations, symbolic actions, and intellectual defiance. Special focus is placed on the activities of Communist-led action groups, as well as the high-risk rescue efforts undertaken by non-Communist actors – such as aristocrats and military officers. The study emphasizes that in many cases, the mere authority of a weapon or uniform proved sufficient for successful rescue efforts, without the actual use of force. Research into this form of “weapon-carrying” resistance may not only deepen our understanding of the multifaceted nature of resistance but also shed light on the broader social dynamics of the period.
