Abstract
The purpose of this article is to introduce the concept of the right of petition and its history and constitutional regulation in Hungary. Many say it is a long-forgotten right that has lost much of its relevance and has been replaced by more effective means of legal protection. However, it still exists today as a political right, it is present in national constitutions and has been given a new impetus in the European Union. It has its roots in the past and has always been available to the most vulnerable. Let us take a closer look at the specific nature and nature of this right.
