Abstract

Neoplastic tissues of curled peach leaves by Taphrina deformans exhibit increased cytokinin activity and contain increased levels of indole-3-acetic acid and tryptophan compared with healthy leaf tissues. Three, chromatographically similar, cytokinins are present both in healthy and infected leaves, bút those in infected leaves are more active in the soybean callus test. Diseased leaf tissues contain an additional cytokinin which is nőt present in extracts from healthy leaves.
