Abstract
In this article I analyse the concert series of the Hungarian rapper Krúbi, which was presented in the summer of 2023 and can also be interpreted as a theatre performance. The performances leading up to the release of Krúbi III in November placed the rapper’s earlier music into a narrative framework that foreshadowed the opening song of Krúbi III, Partyzán, and the album itself by thematising the discourse of power and politics and the mutability of performer identity. In my analysis, I focus on the question of the performer’s persona, the context of the Memorial Concert, and the interpretation of the three units of the concert in terms of storytelling, costumes, and the set.
