Abstract

Abasár központi magaslatán, a mai Bolt-tetőn alapított monostort Aba Sámuel (1041–1044), s itt helyezték végső nyugalomra is. Feltehetően már a XVIII. században kerülhettek elő régészeti jelenségek a domb oldalában elhelyezkedő pincék kialakításakor, az egykori épületek maradványai pedig egészen a XX. század elejéig megfigyelhetők voltak a felszínen. A tanulmány egyrészt az 1972-ben folytatott ásatást mutatja be, melynek során a gótikus templomhoz csatlakozó kápolnában három sírkő is előkerült. Másfelől foglalkozik a 2006–2011 között végzett kutatással is, elsősorban az akkor feltárt temetőrészt ismertetve. | In 1042, King Samuel Aba (1041–1044) founded a monastery on the central hill of Abasár, today known as Bolt-tető, and it was here that he was laid to rest a few years after his death in 1044. Archaeological features may have been discovered as early as the 18th century – and perhaps even before – during the construction of cellars on the side of the hill, and the remains of the former buildings were visible on the surface until the beginning of the 20th century. On the one hand, this study presents the excavation conducted in 1972, during which three tombstones were discovered in the chapel attached to the Gothic church. On the other hand, it also deals with the research conducted between 2006 and 2011, primarily describing the part of the cemetery that was excavated at that time.
