Abstract

A falukutatások során – a települések gazdasági-, társadalmi helyzetének feltárásán belül – az agrárium vizsgálata minden esetben kiemelt hangsúlyt kap. Jelen fejezet azokra a kutatási eredményekre fókuszál, melyek a mezőgazdaság jelenlegi, és jövőbeni fejlesztésekben játszott szerepét mutatják be a vizsgált településen. Az agrárium történetének, valamint legutóbbi helyi kutatásunk főbb eredményeinek rövid bemutatása után, a jelenlegi állapotok felvázolásához a rendelkezésre álló hivatalos statisztikák, és kiemelten a falukutató tábor primer kutatásának eredményei szolgálnak alapul. Összességében megállapítottuk, hogy a mezőgazdaság szerepvesztése tovább folytatódó tendencia a településen. Míg az ágazat visszaszorulásában meghatározó tényező volt a helyi bánya beindulása, annak megszűnése nem állította vissza a mezőgazdaság korábbi funkcióját. A háztáji gazdálkodás eltünése mögött emellett máshol is általános tényezők húzódnak. A fő-, de inkább mellékállásban végzett mezőgazdálkodás jelenléte alacsony szintű, kevés fiatal folytat termelést. Ugyanakkor azonosítható egy fiatalabb/középkorú korosztály, amelyik kiemelten az önellátást, illetve az egészséges élelmiszer termelését célozta meg. Mindent egybevetve, az eredményeink alapján a település hosszú távú fejlesztésében a mezőgazdaságnak nem tulajdonítanak jelentős szerepet. | During village-research camps -- besides many other topics -- the role of agriculture as an endogenous competitive factor in long time local development is permanently analysed. After introducing the short history of the agriculture in Egercsehi, this chapter focuses on the role of the sector in the current situation and further development possibilities of the analysed settlement based on the results of secondary and mainly primary research (questionnaires among residents and in-depth interviews with the main local actors). Overall, we found that the declining role of agriculture is a continuing trend in the settlement. While the opening of the local mine was a key factor in the sector’s decline, its closure has not restored agriculture to its former role. Moreover, the disappearance of backyard farming is driven by factors that are common elsewhere as well. The level of farming as a primary or, more often a secondary source of income is low, with few young people being involved. At the same time, there is a younger/middle-aged group that is particularly focused on becoming self-sufficient and producing healthy food. Based on our findings, agriculture is not expected to play a significant role in the longterm development of the community.
