Abstract
The medieval castle excavations that have been ongoing for several years also held exciting surprises in store in 2024 regarding the Árpád-era stone carvings. The most beautiful is a fragment of a column shaft decorated with palmette leaves enclosed in medallions consisting of a broken triple tendril ribbon, which, based on its small size, could have been part of a smaller architectural structure. The other, a rather worn stone, could have belonged to a portal, which was decorated with similar motives. The decoration differs from the carvings described in the previous years.
