Abstract

A tanulmány a magyar hadtudomány korai elméleti fejlődését vizsgálja két meghatározó gondolkodó, Magyari István (Az országokban való sok romlásoknak okairól, 1602) és Zrínyi Miklós (Vitéz hadnagy, 1652) műveinek elemzésén keresztül. A kutatás célja annak feltárása, miként kapcsolódik a 16–17. század fordulóján az erkölcsi-vallási önvizsgálat és a hadművészet elmélete egymáshoz, s hogyan alakul ki a magyar hadtudomány önálló gondolati alapja. Magyari a reformáció korának lelki és társadalmi válságára adott morális választ, míg Zrínyi már a modern hadtudomány előfutáraként a hadakozás tudományos tanulmányozását hirdette. A tanulmány amellett érvel, hogy Zrínyi Miklós tekinthető az első magyar hadtudósnak, aki Magyari erkölcsi alapvetését a katonai praxis és a tudomány rendszerébe emelte. | This study investigates the early theoretical development of Hungarian military science through the works of István Magyari Az országokban való sok romlásoknak okairól [On the Causes of the Many Ruins of Kingdoms], 1602) and Miklós Zrínyi Vitéz hadnagy [The Valiant Commander], 1652). It explores how moral-religious introspection and the theory of warfare became intertwined at the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries, forming the intellectual foundations of Hungarian military thought. While Magyari responded to the Reformation-era moral and social crisis with a call for spiritual renewal, Zrínyi anticipated modern military science by defining warfare as a discipline based on learning and practice. The article argues that Zrínyi can be regarded as Hungary’s first military theorist, who transformed Magyari’s moral principles into a coherent military doctrine grounded in knowledge, discipline, and patriotism.
