Abstract
Som is a village located 8 kilometers from the town of Siófok, with a current population of 709. It has been mentioned in written sources since Roman times, and numerous archaeological remains have been found in the area. Situated in the Eastern Outer Somogy Hills, the settlement could not escape the storms of history; along with its growth, it also suffered losses, particularly during various wars. This study presents facts and data from that period, commemorating the heroes who sacrificed their lives for their homeland, their loved ones, and for the peaceful life we enjoy today.
